Often, I have days when I’ve got a lot on my mind and need to get out of my typical surroundings. These are the days that I opt for a drive. I get in my car, turn up the radio or find a good CD or Spotify playlist and hit the road.
Sometimes I have a destination in mind and other times I just decide which way to turn, as I go. I’ve ended up in other counties and even other states before. Usually I’m singing at the top of my lungs as I drive – watching the road and the scenery fly by.
Now, I’ve got a pretty good sense of direction when it comes to places I’ve been before, but I urge you to take along a GPS or your phone, so that you can easily find your way back home. You don’t want to negate the peace of driving by getting lost and having the anxiety of not knowing where you are.
So, next time you need a change of scenery, fill up the tank and go for a ride!
