These days, we are connected to so much technology, it’s difficult to get away from it all. Can you remember back to a time when if the phone rang – you didn’t have to answer it? Or when you got home from work, you could think about other things besides work?
An easy way to center yourself is to digitally detox; unplug yourself for an hour. Yes, I’m talking about putting the phone down, turning off the laptop and TV. Use the quiet time to tap into your thoughts and figure out what’s on your mind and what you’re feeling. No Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat, just you and your thoughts, for an hour.
Meditate, go for a walk, color or take a hot bath. Do something without your phone in your hands; digitally detox. You won’t miss much if you’re disconnected for an hour. Actually you might find that you gain more than you “missed out” on.
