I went into the bathroom just yesterday, looked at the countertop and had a mini meltdown. It was full of my make-up; bottles, tubes, compartments of eye shadow and hairbands galore! I decided then that it was time to go through, clear out and organize my make-up. I quickly ran to my favorite brand discount store, found 2 acrylic make-up organizers and brought them home. I spent the next 25 minutes going through everything on the countertop, deciding how much I use it and whether or not it was still fresh.
Believe it or not, certain make-up does have an expiration date. Usually, for me, it’s when the mascara gets clumpy or the eye shadow begins to crumble. Also, in the process, I discovered some eye shadow that had found its way to the bottom of the pile. It was like getting new make-up – but not having to pay for it! BONUS!
In the end, not only could I see the countertop again, but I knew what make-up I had, and the clutter of the old or barely-used had been tossed. I felt a huge sense of accomplishment after this, even if it only took 25 minutes.
