This is one of my all-time “go-to” self-care habits. Music has always been a grounding point in my life and when I’m feeling low or moody, I tend to put on music and sing & dance. I can remember at a young age, standing in front of my mother’s record player cabinet, putting the vinyl on the table and the needle on the vinyl. I would croon with the best of them, getting lost not only in the music but the lyrics I knew by heart.
Music is said to “sooth the savage beast.” I believe this and also believe that you can tell a lot about someone from their music list. No matter what genre you like to listen to, or if you’re like me and hop from one genre to another, depending on my mood, there is bound to be music out there that moves and speaks to you.
